BTW, no. However there is a spot on the highway I pass to and from work that either smells like burned toast or freshly ground coffee. I figure it has something to do with QVC.

No dogs die in Coe's version. In the Steve Goodman original (well not the original, the original doesn't have the last verse, just like Coe says), dead dogs like Ol' Shep are added, as well as farms and a "big holiday, like Christmas."
