Some names I'd like to see recycled for Lockn would be The Who, Jerry Lee Lewis, Trombone Shortyl, The Meters, Anders Osborne, Snarky Puppy, The Word, Earhpunk, Shovels & Rope, Bela Fleck

What I'd like to see from that lineup at Lockn is Sturgill Simpson and Buckwheat Zydeco (as well as some others you mentioned) . You can keep the half-Who and holy cow how is Jerry Lee still alive?

Some select highlights, I'll try to keep it somewhat contained and only list a couple for each night, but there is so much out there you should check out the above link to see it all:

Sunday: Early - Dead Feat, The Word
There is still lots of good stuff Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for those that want to stay the whole 10 days.
Thursday: Early - AXIAL TILT: Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Celebration (Stu Allen, Rob Eaton, Mitch Stein, Robin Sylvester and Jay Lane), Anders Osborne
Royal Family Ball: 10pm - 4 am - Lettuce, Soulive + special opening acts and guests
Friday: Early - AXIAL TILT, Six Strings Down (Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, Samantha Fish, Luther Dickinson), Primus
Late - Karl Denson's Tiny Universe (Voodoo Dead: Bill Kreutzamnn, Steve Kimock, Keller Wiliiams, Dave Schools, Jeff Chimenti)
Saturday: Early - Primus, George Porter Jr., JRAD, Voodoo Dead
Late - Galactic
Sunday (5/3): Voodoo Dead, Sonnny Landreth & Tab Benoit
Lots of smaller acts that are great playing too, plus the actual festival is great.

I'm gonna go to the Bon Ton Cafe downtown on magazine before I go see almost dead next Saturday, it's one of my favorites but hats the only reservation. Tomorrow will probably just eat food at the festival. They have a Vietnamese po boy that I will definitely eat and all kinds of other stuff. Some friends will be in town so I'll take them to deanies for fresh boiled shrimp and crab or whatever kind of seafood. I'll probably also take them to this place calls butcher downtown before Saturday night or Sunday night show.

Ya I'm only going today, Thursday and Sunday.
Today was awesome saw earphunk - a band of locals who got to play their first jazzfest, petty cool to see. Honey island swamp band with some horns was a lot of fun, johnathan long playing some real good blues guitar, some guy named Wayne Toups who u had never heard of was real good, tedeschi trucks band played probably the best set I've seen them play. Trucks was going off and the last two inudig "bound for glory" had some awesome heavy jamming I feel like I never see TTB play like that. Saw a bit of jimmy cliff and snarky puppy but had to hustle and beat the rain.

Sounds good. I love Boogie Long. Jazzfest is sometging I definitely want to hit one of these years.
