Just found out about this browsing the nets. www.vaporsofmorphine.com/ If you loved Morphine in the 90's this is for you. Original Morphine members Dana Colley (baritone sax) and Jerome Deupree (drums) are joined by vocalist/guitarist/bassist Jeremy Lyons. They perform the music of Morphine, also adding psychedelic renditions of West African songs, originals and obscure Rock and Delta Blues tunes. Please God make this happen at Lockn' (late night please!) You can make this my birthday and Christmas gift combined!

"Morphine" was one of the first CD's I bought when I switched to that technology/format. it was interesting but I don't know that I feel compelled to revive it. Or maybe I will this weekend? thanks for the reminder of what's in those crates!

I seem to remember that he played it here on that tour, and I said "hey--this is Morphine!" The sax fits and the jazz jam vibe fits. And Dave does so few covers.

DMB's horns, especially the older guy, and drums make his a premier contemporary jazz band IMO.

Thanks again for the Morphine reminder; I pulled out the Cure for Pain CD for a drive. Interesting stuff-- a 2 string slide bass?

But they get a little repetitive for me.
