My Bass Pro boots are a similar to Muck boots which cost 5x as much. A guy in line with me warned me that his didn't hold up. I got about 5 years out of mine and replaced them. I can do that 4 more times and be even with the name brand. That's always part of my buying strategy, especially with some that might get damaged, lost or outgrown, regardless of quality. I have a friend who used to race sailboats, and rather than the $500+ watches his competitors used, he'd just get a half dozen $10 timex's; if one crapped out, he tossed it overboard and strapped on a new one. Well the weather has been fantastic the last two years but eventually we are going to have to deal with rain. Maybe not this year but some year. What do you wear? Trash bags, flip flops, bare feet or some other footwear more suited for muddy fields?

I have a pair of Wellington rain boots and a pair of rubber muck shoes. Both have been to Lockn and thankfully never needed. Dry feet are happy feet.

i go barefoot once i get into the venue, regardless of the weather.
that being said, for some reason i always carry around one of these in my backpack. maybe someone else will need a pair

I have a big girlie pair of Wellies. I've only used them once. I think dragging them around keeps the rain away.

Boggs. They are so comfortable and I wear them about 3 months out of the year to work in. We get (or should I say, used to get) a lot of rain in Humboldt

Unless you have feet like a hobbit, or sneake, barefoot is risky; the rocks are sharp.
I have Croc's water shoes (which are not waterproof) and waterproof ankle boots from Bass Pro.

Boots crapping out on me is not an alternative. I see that with the watches though?

Big old black rubber rain boots. ALWAYS carry your rain boots. Barefoot is a nice idea and most of the time woks fine. I have been places that you really don't want to do that.

thanks for the tip on tractor supply; I happened on one of their stores this weekend while out of town and scored black rubber boots for $15 and a straw hat for $10!

I have a pair of big rubber boots. Found them on monday after roo in 09 with the tag still attached. Size 13 perfect fit. Have yet to use them at a fest but always bring them.
