I was wondering what Day 2 is? can't find it on the park site. But DSO's tour schedule shows they are playing both days. That could be a fun afternoon then I could return home.

It's a long drive for us, but a cheap ticket with camping. And two days of DSO, which is never a bad thing...especially during "The Summer of the Dead." I have a feeling we'll be there.

We went to last year's show. DSO's first 'rent-the-park' event as they described it. Very well done. Two opening bands, The Weight (Band cover band with 1 or 2 original members) and a band called The Bridge that I had not heard before. Also good.I'm really thinking about it. Has anyone been there? How's the camping and venue?
It's a state park so they have the camping set-up that can support everything from pup-tents to tractor/trailer pulled monster campers (and there was one of these at last year's event). Most camp sites are shady with some open areas for setting up tents close to friends. Rest rooms/showers clean and plentiful. The venue is nice. A small amphitheater with some seating up front but most seating is lawn. It's about two miles (park's estimate) from camping to the venue. Last year the county's school bus drivers operated shuttles non-stop from camp to venue and back.
It did rain the entire weekend but no one seemed to notice. The only down side was the no in & out rule early on. Meaning once you left the venue you couldn't re-enter. This was a problem right from the beginning. With three bands playing it was a big committment to show up early knowing you couldn't go back to camp for supper etc ... This kept people away and the first show was lightly attended. The park suspended the rule quickly, sent word through the camping area and the venue filled. All was good.

Haven't decided but would like to go. Probably depends on schedules, possible we would make the Saturday show but not for Friday night.

Available for purchase in venue. No beer garden, carry where you want. They do limit purchases to 5/person so make sure you're not the only one in your party that brings his ID. Okay to have in campsite but must be in cups or otherwise disguised. What is the beer situation at the state park?
