Anyone ever run into the Twelve Tribes people and their amazing Peacemaker bus at a concert in the last 20 years? A friend of mine saw the bus in The Fan in RVA this weekend, and the Tribe was hanging in the tiny Snyder Park.

I was not familiar with Twelve Tribes or the Peacemaker buses,, so I just did a little reading. Weird that a group that believes in "faith based" health management are going to events and concerts offering first aid...?
Cool looking bus none the less, I wonder what it was built off of? GMC?

I saw them once at a show somewhere around 10 years ago and was talking about how cool the bus looked. Someone invited me on. I immediately felt a weird vibe and got back off quickly. What's their deal?

I spent some time on the Twelve Tribes website, and it's complicated. They acquired a rep for helping at concerts but honestly I never heard of them. I'm a big fan of old busses and I would have glommed onto it immediately. My buddy said that in Ricmond the women got off the bus in old timey home made dresses, kind of like FLDS, if you have ever dealt with them. It seems like a religious cult and that they use the bus to travel among their communities (bus sleeps 24...) more than being festie Angels.
They also have a bitchin three masted 150 foot brigantine. What they use a big ass sailing vessel for I cannot picture.
PS bus is a nice Flexi on the bottom, GM scenic on top. Nice work for sure.

Same folks who hand out literature after the shows. Seen them around for years, and yes, always struck me as a bit culty.

One of my best buddies in high school woke up one morning and joined the French Foreign Legion. He was totally out of country and cut off from polite civilization for like 6 years. Was a very different guy with some pretty bizarre thought patterns when he got back.I know a guy who thought he was a mercenary, but he was just a weenie, and he got rejected by the French Foreign Legion.

He had also literally run off and joined the circus pretty much straight out of high school.

Ran across these guys at Dear Jerry last month. Took a tour of the bus and chatted for a bit. Good hospitality and pleasant conversion. Nothing uncomfortable.
