No. VIP tix are mailed. At least that's how it was done in the past. You do get your VIP schwag at gate when checking in.

and such fine swag at that!

I'm a volunteer and they have us come in on Wednesday--when we checked in at 5pm last year there were already cars in line waiting. Don't know about this year...

hey i have the same type of question about arrival.i am renting an rv and have ga admission.I cant pick up the rv til 10 which puts me there about 2 pm.is there a long wait for rv admission at this time on thursday?should i consider getting it on wednesday so i can leave earlier.what time do the bands start on thursday?

Understanding that the gates open at 6am/Sunrise, I have seen talk about starting to line up at midnight.

Does that mean RVs sit on the entrance road coming from Lovingston? where is the line up?

In order to wait until 6am entrance I have pass LOCKN (around 2pm) to go toward CVille for the night at a friends place. I would just prefer not to drive that extra 60 miles.

So the holding grounds for RVs is separate from the Field of Broken Dreams (day parking, closest to Hwy 29)?

I've been feeling nostalgic about the field of broken dreams lately. Does anyone know of any pictures showing the gridlock?

everyone in my group was hydrating a lot but not me since i was trying to navigate a 35 ft RV through that insanity. I was fit to be tied. I even go interviewed by the local news towards the end....not surprised it didnt make the air since my frustrations obviously came through in my comments to the reported.

But that day and the field of broken dreams does get a section in the memoirs.

I only got like 3 hours in the field.  I took a shuttle up and hopped out to go fiend my friends. Was planning on calling them when I got to the camping area, but they were only about 50' ahead of where i got dropped off.  I walked up and surprised them but had not heard about the massive traffic problems.  My first words after saying hello was "man I thought you would have made it in by now" and the look on their faces after hearing that was pretty priceless.
