Last year we arrived at 6:00 AM on Friday, drove right in and set up in family camping, great spot. This year we will be arriving Thursday morning and we plan on going to family camping. Is there any disadvantage to arriving too early, say around 6:30? How much do they manage where you set up within a particular area? Last year we were pretty close to bathrooms and water and it was nice. Any thoughts? On a related note my son just discovered MD&E. He says "I don't know if I'm more excited about finding out about this album, or seeing it at Lockn"

Reading through this thread it seems that most expect the entry process to be the same as last year. Last year I received a map and arrival instructions along with my tickets. My tics arrived this year in a white envelope along with my camping pass and nothing else. No map (not yet available) and no entry instructions. Did anyone get anything in the mail or see anything online about the traffic flow?

I wondered about the map too. Being SVIP we had to go in a different way. I still have a map from last year & hope it's the same. The did send a second map less than a week before the festival so we may still get one. I may email CID later.

I emailed CID about SVIP arrival last week since the map doesn't show a separate entrance. We are glamping so parking is included but I haven't received a parking tag or anything at all to display as we pull in....

3. Will I be receiving anything from you that I need to present when we arrive to show we have a Super VIP glamping package? Last year I believe we had a parking tag so the parking attendants knew where to send us as we pulled into the festival grounds.

3.) When you check in with our staff at the VIP Toll Booth they will either give you a hang tag or mark your car appropriately so you will have access to your Glamping tent.

This makes it sound like VIP and SVIP go to the same VIP toll booth. I can't remember if that was the case last year? We arrived around 3pm so we didn't have any issues with traffic so I really didn't pay that close attention.

I find it easiest to just set the GPS for Oak Ridge Farm, and then simply follow the many road signs the festival puts up to find exactly where I need to go. Everything has been very well marked the last two years, and I expect the same this year.

Any idea what the best way to enter VIP Camping from either rte 29 or rte 56?

Last year we were directed to pick up 56 in Lovingston and head South towards the farm. We were staged in a field prior to the gates opening. Much better organized than in first year. I'm guessing from the feedback TOO received we will do the same thing.

We'll be heading North on 29. We'll pass the farm and continue to Lovingston where we'll pick up 56 and come back south. There is another turn you'll need to make but it's marked well and last year had police directing traffic at the turn.

Here is a standalone VIP map that CID sent out today. Shows both VIP and SVIP enter at same place. Also shows the VIP and SVIP camping areas a bit better.
