I'm a good 10 Hrs from Lockn' so I will be leaving on Wednesday (9/9/15) & staying in Lexington that night at the Best Western. If anybody else will be there that night & maybe we can get together for a drink & dinner. I'll be in town around 3:00 Pm. Wow 9/9 that's a month from now. I'm ready for the music, the people & the party.

Still working on it, either flying into Charlotte and hopping a ride or a similar scenario potentially in nashville. I am buying my flight by Wednesday though so will hopefully get it all firmed up then. I wish they did the shuttle from Charlottesville like in Year 1. It was really easy for me getting to the fest that year with a flight in and then a quick shuttle to the front gate.

Im thinking about driving up Wednesday night and staying in Lynchburg. Would be such an easy drive in, compared to the 5 or so hours from home.

That's what I'm going for. After 9 hours of driving A good meal & like Andie Bee said a nice long shower before the fest & a good nights sleep before the madness starts. Lynchburg has an airport with commercial flights and there are shuttles from Lynchburg--maybe you can check this out?

thank you, I can now leave Thursday morning instead. probably goin to do that and get dropped off by some friends driving back to Charlotte

Very tempting andie bee. I was planning on working Wednesday though. Probably wouldn't be in till late, will have to consider taking another day off.
I had to order a new canopy today, broke a pole on the old one last time it was out. $120 out of my lockn fund already.
Just booked a room at courtyard, might as well take another day off.

NEED SOME ADVISE:
My group is hoping to rent the smallest 8x4 U-Haul trailer to pull behind our Subaru but can't figure out if this is allowed in the no-car camping parking lots. I've tried contacting LockN and searching the website but no luck. We all swear we saw this happening last year but can't be sure. We're driving from KC, MO so we will have nowhere to leave the trailer if we're turned away. Any advise would be awesome, looking forward to year 2!
Exciting update: LockN emailed me back and they said a UHaul in the no-car camping lot is perfectly fine. They did warn me these types of vehicles will be searched much more heavily due to issues last year with UHauls. Hope this helps others!

The main idea IMO is that they don't want either box trucks or cargo trailers to be used for housing, as an RV or a "tent".
Second concern is "smuggling." As with the limits on propane and alcohol, they don't want someone setting up shop. I suppose they'd also look for other bulk stuff to sell.

I didn't last year either (but we were in ADA). But in 2013 the nitrous boys were camped right next to us.I didn't even see one balloon last year.
