I really wish we could price ourselves away from rowdy youngsters with an RV or something, 'cause some just about put me off festivals for good last weekend. Hey, I'm all for partying until the dawn, but when the sun's coming up and the tent's getting hot and I still haven't slept...well, that's an issue. I sure don't want to be grumpy old man (again, sigh), but I cannot sleep with shit jammed in my ears either. Besides, even when I've tried, they just pop out. Same problem with earbud headphones.

Any suggestions?

Edit: family camping is also out, as I find actual children only a little less desirable than those who act like them.

I camp in family at other festivals...It WILL be quieter over there, and the kids will pretty much ignore you. I don't know about Lockn but Family camping is usually closer to the main stage which is a big plus.

I wasn't worried about them bothering us directly. What worries me about family camping is young children being up at the ass-crack of dawn and playing screechy games outside because there's no Nickelodeon. Which is exactly as it should be, but it's not any better for my beauty rest than musically ~~impaired~~ inclined teenagers who've been up all night.

That's the choice as I see it: the all-night molly crowd, or Saturday morning breakfast cereal. How can you wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world if you've never been to bed?

Know what you mean Worf, kids are great, had a couple of them myself, but when it comes to being up all night you need that quiet time. Same thing when Joanne & me go out for a meal. Have to go somewhere whit a no kids bar to enjoy the meal.
And your right about kids being outside playing instead of having their faces glued to some kind of screen. Loved being outside with the kids playing now with my grandchildren.
