Last year was blazing hot and we tried really hard to find "WaterLocken" aka a shuttle bus transporting folks to a lake to take a dip, but could never find it.
Anyone find this last year? Was it worth it? Sometimes in that Virginia heat a dip is the only cure.

It sounds like a great trip, but isn't $20 a bit steep? Maybe we can set up an inflatable pool by one of the watering holes...

About the going rate for a tubing trip. I can go tubing any time (even have my own set of tubes). I am at Lockn for the music-- not skipping it for tubing

Has anybody tried Water Lockn' who could share their experience? I am curious how long the trip was. Based on the photos (and no mention of tubes), it looks like it could be enjoyable for 45 minutes or so...then back to the music and beer tents!

From a friend who is volunteering to drive the vans:
From Heather Braunstein, Trinity Church, Waterlockn Director We have also been watching the Lockn boards and have seen some speculation about the $20. After our expenses (renting vans, insurance and gas) our proceeds go to the Virginia Haiti Collaborative and Nelson Kid Care. Our donation together with a grant will go to training teachers in Haiti as many of them are not very educated themselves. Last year our donation went to building a well in Haiti. Nelson Kid Care provides low income school children in Nelson County with enough food to make it through the weekend when they are not in school. Both are worthy charities and Trinity has had a relationship with both for many years.
The schedule for attendees is as follows: Friday 10-4, Saturday 10-4, Sunday 10-2. They may sign up for a spot starting Thursday at 3:00 (when grounds open Folks catch the Waterlockn vans at Trinity across from the Atlas statue on Oak Ridge Rd. They need to come 15 minutes prior to their ticket time to check in. We also provide environmentally friendly soap in case people want scrub a few days worth of camping off. And if folks are bringing kids they need to bring an appropriate car seat with them.
at our Waterlockn booth in the main festival grounds. As of right now we haven't been told where we will be exactly. Look for our banners and signs and watch the Facebook page for updates.

Did anyone do this last year? Wondering if the visit to the river is an hour, or the whole there-dip-and-back runs an hour. Definitely don't need an hour in water. Very interested if it's there and back in an hour, so I can take a morning dip and get back to the music ASAP.
