I'll go ahead and echo everyone else's sentiments - the weather last year was as close to perfect as it gets. They picked a great location/time of year to host this festival.

I agree with you all talking about the weather being great last year. Hopefully we will be just as lucky. I have been camping in Richmond the same weekend for the last 20 years at the Nascar Race. We have had many races with rain and muddy weather. I am lucky to only live a few hours away and camp 20 miles away each year when we river tube. For you all that are new to the area, lets pray for great weather, but plan for anything. I had extra socks and boots in the camper just in case. Also had a cheep disposable poncho in my bag. This was my first actual large festival and it was more then I expected. It was one of the highlights of my year. I read a few of you are coming solo. I attended the fest solo, but within a few hours became part of a great family of great people. See you all in Sept.

Welcome upstatedrew. This will be my first Lockn also & going solo. Line up is already great & lots more to come. I'll be in VIP which I know some of you multifesters can't do. Hope we can have a Lockn forum meetup. I love to meet these people & the moderators Dylan & Sneake. Looks like a great way to spend your 40th year.

glad to have you here, drew. i'm one of those multi festers you speak of. starting my year off at wanee, then on to either roo or mt jam (jack white calls to me, or i wouldn't even consider roo), then either to floyd (also here in va) or vibes if i can get the money together, then hopefully peach if i still have some fight in me, ending the year at Lockn'. if i had to choose one, it would definitely be lockn. the venue is gorgeous, and the weather last year was LITERALLY perfect. as my boy dylan said, the way the sets roll is outstanding. 2 stages, side by side. never more than a minute or two between acts. and oh god the collaborations. at points you could almost forget who is scheduled to perform. whether it's zach brown jamming out (who actually surprised me) or bob weir and susan tedeschi backing chris robinson of the crowes, or grace potter coming in and singing dear prudence with mule... you just never knew who would show up on the stage next and that is an amazing feeling. every day you wake up and think "what once in a lifetime performance am i going to witness today?" i took so much away from the festival last year and i wouldn't give that up for anything

thanks for the welcome y'all. Waycha I am camping in VIP for Lockn..Been saving for a year for this summer of fun.. Sneake its awesome that you are hitting so many as well. I hope we can meet up at a festival before lockn. Ill check back here, Keep warm evreyone and know that festival season will be upon us soon.

first, great to have you. glad you found us. second, idk about camping passes, but I emailed them about a week ago and asked if i could upgrade my ga ticket to vip and they told me no. they may be more lenient on the camping passes though. good luck to you!

damn, i can go to forecastle vip for the same price as roo GA. i have a certain lady friend that wants to hit up roo with me... big reason why i'm going. and ky in july? i'd rather be up in connecticut at the vibes... we'll see what pans out.

I actually did meet one boarder, in line. It was hard to miss fldead1's red VW bus in the clusterf line to get in.
