Due to some health issues, we need to stay off-site, and we've managed to book a hotel in Amherst - about 15 mi South from Lockn'.

I'm wondering what the Taxi situation is like at the festival. I know there is a Taxi service that Lockn' has lined up, and I even see the Taxi sign on the 2015 map - right next to VIP parking.

Does anyone have any experience taking a taxi to, or more importantly from Lockn', especially late at night?

I'm wondering if there are Taxis available all night long, or if there is a time where they just all seem to disappear? Also wondering if there are lots of people waiting for Taxis? I'm guessing there would be more just after the last set at the main stage(s).

Any insight at all on the Taxi situation would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Skate. This is a service that is evolving and I'd imagine there'd be services this year making multiple pickups throughout the day and evening.
i looked into getting a taxi when TTB played the BRB and the uncertainty of the late night pickup busted that. Seems tho for an event like Lockn there'd be more of a need and therefor supply. Prolly some gypsy taxi's too!

Amherst itself won't have any taxis; it's a tiny college town (both the town and college Sweet Briar) but it's en route between Lockn and Lynchburg, so you'd have to talk the taxi/van/driver to pick you up or drop you off there.

Maybe you can arrange something with the hotel manager on the side? Or rent a car and drive, if one of you wants to stay legal for it.

Or find someone travelling to/from Lynchburg; or maybe hire a Sweetbriar student? Maybe SB has a ride board, and would like gas money?

If you want to change hitchhiking (at the gate) your sign should say "Sweetbriar/Amherst". But check the detailed maps for your hotel and Sweetbriar's gates as it is out in the country, not in town.
