tent only camp question. anyone?

Everything has to fit in your space.  That is the only restriction.  In practice it may be a little more wide-open than that.  We had (along with neighbors who all started as strangers) four camp passes and five campsites.  There was basically no enforcement or regulation in the camping area (and really no need, as there was a lot of room everywhere).  

We were in preferred tent-only last year and the 205 sq ft sites were marked with paint; however, I didn't see anyone checking to make sure people were within those lines. I guess it all depends on your neighbors and what space they need. Maybe it's a bit more relaxed if there's plenty of room overall to spread out.

Last year my daughters parked their car in car camping and then headed for the distant restrooms before putting up their tent. When they got back two seriously stoned guys pulled in next to them and put up two tents, one of them in my girls space. "Because, man, there's like not enough space for our two tents in our own spot, man."  I was to called in to mediate, and we worked it out so that we got two cars and three tents on two spots.  When the super stoned dude said sure, he would move his car over three feet, it took him about ten minutes to do so, back and forth, back and forth.  Patience, and all good vibes, reminded me of my own misspent youth.

I brought a screen tent too but never set it up b/c there were no bugs--I think the farm was treated before we arrived. But you can always drag your small "sleeping" tent under a screen/shade/EZ up tent and conserve space, as well as have less sun alarm in the morning.

1000 sq ft. for < 40 ft RV (20'x50')
1400 sq ft. for > 40 ft RV (20'x70')

You are allowed to set up canopies next to your car/tent without purchasing another car camping pass as long as you remain within the allotted campsite.

I was in tent only last year and there seemed to be plenty of room hopefully it is the same this year
Im camping solo this year but I'm planning on bringing an EZ-up canopy so I don't fry in the sun at camp... any other family wanting some shade are welcome
Or if anyone wants to set up near me to share the canopy for the weekend?

We were fine as we had everything, minus the shower, set up under our 10 x 10 canopy and still had room to set our chairs outside. We also had screen walls which worked nicely.

There were no bugs last year, at my camp, my sisters' RV camp, or in the stage area. 5 miles away at my friend's mother's house they carried you away--same terrain. We think the good farmers used their special stuff to eradicate them all for the weekend.

Not to say you shouldn't be prepared in case things are different.


And 15x30 sounds right; put the car in the corner and you have lots of room, plus there are aisles left open that add to the breathing room. My car has a tailgate so I put my EZ up right over the back end and incorporated the car into the structure.

Ours were marked with paint too.  But there were not people in every space, so people sloshed over into empty spaces.  There were also very generous "alleys" and people's campsites also sloshed over into those.  

Word. This year the allotted area looks smaller than last. Last year we were set up in a space that is between family camping and Sherpa village this year. It now looks like empty green space for this new layout. We got ample space by walking to the end of a row and setting up into empty space and had all the room we needed. Arriving later on Thursday evening. Hopefully still ample room.

I remember something from the first year about the set up crew being nearly drained of all blood by mosquitos until the good people with the good poison came along and killed everything that flies or crawls. Don't know what they use but I'd love to get my hands on a few drums of the stuff.
