Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Amen. watching the video of the storm, I was imagining a day later and everyone panicking. Also, grounds like that get dangerously slippery when soaked, worse that glare/black ice on a road. A few years ago at Roo a vehicle that was slowly making its way out started sliding, slid over a tent and killed two girls. There's easily a lot more there than some blow-overs. Remember the road up the hill from Garcia's to Forest? wouldn't take much to wash it out so it's dangerous for a crowd in the dark. wow....i am disappointed also and agree that there is no way we can completely get what we paid for now. it is a huge bummer no doubt about it. That said I normally try not to get into religious discussions as I don't see much point in them. Everyone is entitled to their owe views. This time I just can't resist and I have nothing else to occupy my time right now. So regarding the blame god rant above....
First off if there is a God she is a woman and looks like Alanis Morissette...everyone know that.
Second society would be much better off if we, individually and collectively, embraced a philosophical and ethical stance that emphasizes the value of human beings. If there is a divine power out there that created humans it seems to me that this power has left us to fend for ourselves. If we can't get along and make the world a better place why would she bother to help us. She can't help us if we won't help ourselves.
Humans should be making decisions based on critical thinking and evidence (rationalism, empiricism) over established doctrine or faith (fideism). Blaming whatever deity you may pray to for this is utter nonsense.

ALMOST CROAKIN' at LOCKIN'
We arrived at Lockin' and after the suitable period of "hurry up and wait", a rock n roll necessity if ever there was one, we planted ourselves in the field that was designated 'staff camping' alongside friends Chris DiLeo and Matt Martin and Linda. A 'home base' camp was rapidly established with two pop ups and chairs, and soon we were all sitting around playing guitars and saluting the gods. We managed to borrow a golf cart and Jackie Cutler and I went to visit with Connie & Chuck in the catering tent (dear old friends) having previously placed our books on a table in Maryanne Asta's booth. We chatted and without our noticing that outside the sky was imperceptibly darkening. A massive peal of thunder announced a downpour and the wind began to increase in intensity until it was howling like an angry beast. The sides of the huge catering tent began to flap alarmingly and all kinds of food stuffs and napkins and paper plates made dizzying confetti in the air inside the tent. The wind increased, tables were overturned, people began to yell, Chuck took charge and screamed above the wind "get out of the tent, get out of the tent" and about sixty people streamed into the slashing wind and rain in a panic of searching for alternative shelter. I grabbed Jackie's hand and hollered at her, "follow me, follow me" and dragged her out of the tent which was teetering and flapping alarmingly. We stumbled into the biting wind and rain which was pouring with such ferocity that we were immediately soaked. Quick, I yelled, and we headed for a truck that was less than fifty feet away, with my intention being that we (at the very least) could shelter under the body of the truck. We made it to the lee side of the truck which was shivering like the hull of a boat and ducked down to shelter when in a moment of madness I thought to try the doors of the vehicle - miraculously they were open and we two drowned rats hauled ourselves into the cab and tried in vain not to let the water from our clothes soak the drivers seat. The storm raged with a potent intensity and we laughed together in fear and elation, people ran through the rain blindly seeking shelter, the catering tent heaved and sobbed desperate to be free of its ties to the earth and sail away, and soon we could no longer even see anything beyond the windshield. We were in the eye of the storm. Within minutes it all ceased and we gingerly got out of the truck - a river (well at the very least a pregnant stream) ran merrily beside the tent, rivulets of water streaked across the road turning the parking area under the catering trucks into a miniature version of the Mississippi delta, we were soaked from head to foot. Dear Connie came to the rescue, and I stripped off my soaking clothes and stood incongruously in a bath towel and blue t-shirt whilst she popped my clothes into the drier. Jackie brought me hot coffee and I towelled myself down and soon we were cheerfully passing stories with the other survivors of the great storm at Lockin' in 2015. Finally I pulled on my pants which were still damp but at least deliciously warm and we made our way to the Golf cart to drive to Maryanne's booth and to check the damage. Her art work was substantially inundated with water with perhaps as much as 50% ruined and beyond repair. Our books were now in sodden cardboard boxes with many of them damaged. An inauspicious start to the festival had cruelly been foisted upon one and all. We returned to check the damage at the camp site and all the pop-up tents had been demolished. Lines of toilets lay sadly and incongruously on their sides with raw sewage seeping onto the ground. People were standing around in shock and squeezing the water out of bedding and clothes. More storms were being confidently predicted by the local satellite system which showed patches of rain and severe winds ..... we were refused entry to the festival grounds and could not rescue our damaged books. Reluctantly we decided to head for a friend's hotel-room where we could gather our thoughts, have a hot bath, and await developments, and that brings us up to this very minute. Tired, exhausted and ready for a bath and unsure as to what the hell is going to happen ..... well, we've been THERE before !! So when we know, you'll know !! Life is full of uncertainties and this has been a thrilling and exciting beginning to the festival though not one we would have wished for. Now we must hurry up and wait, which is where we first started this morning when we pulled into the festival grounds and went to the box office to get our 'credentials'. We have all the passes we need, we're ready for some rockin' at Lockin', but who to say WHAT will happen next? Nobody knows. It's in the lap of the Gods. If we can we'll keep you posted. There's little more to add. One love <3

Honestly management is likely operating in a fog of war scenario right now. There is not a whole lot to say until there is something to say. I understand the frustration

Microburst delays Lockn', there will be no show on Thursday
Lockn' organizers are asking concert-goers to be patient while crews work to rebuild and replace equipment and other necessary elements. We are working diligently to resolve all matters related to guest and artist safety, and will make a further announcement two hours prior to the opening of the campgrounds.
