Had an awesome time, as usual

We only had GA wristbands, but the alumni wristband got us behind the fence & to the side of the stage to where there was a place to hang, sit, chill & drink $2 beers. The fencing was non existent, so we were never blocked off from venturing back behind the stage! We totally strolled around in the super VIP section 2 days in a row, met Warren Haynes, Bill Nershi, G E Smith. It was pretty awesome!!

I guess there was the place called "hang" at the left side of the stage, which was where the lady at the alumni tent who gave us the wristbands told us to go. There was the same person manning that particular spot the entire time, and she saw a wristband and let us through every time. There just wasn't any fencing keeping us from being able to stroll around, and nobody was there to tell us otherwise.

Dang! I never even saw where to claim the lumni wristbands! I didn't remember to look much, but sure wish I had.

It was a great time and the music and happy people made it so! All the sideways stuff from Thursday was cleansed away Friday afternoon watching Moonalice with friends and family.

After just the first song of MD&E I said that was enough to make it all worth it.

And the great music just compounded exponentially.

Even the weather got better and better! ("Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?")

Hard to decompress. I can't bring myself to cut off the wristband yet.

I wish...unfortunately while the volunteer wristband said "staff" the accompanying laminate we got clearly says "access not permitted". It DID get us around the "chugpoint Charlie" entrances, though...

I'm still coming down and now publicly coming out as a music festival goer for life. I'm going to The Festy based on my experience at Lockn. Already saving for VIP again. Speaking of which, I get that viewing area was a bit excessive for those behind it, but that's exactly what I paid for. Take everything else away, just give me some good personal space I know I'll have all weekend where the sound is near perfect. Make it smaller if you want, but then please enforce it strictly so fence jumpers don't make it more crowded than should be.

That being said:

NMA was awesome, Anders...Earl...both amazing. Looking forward to Steve Earl and got exactly what I wanted. String is String and always amazing, thought this P&F was much better than Sat, I agree with the majority Philtana was underwhelming. JA tribute great, but Cocker tribute was religious.

Other than that, I thought Sunday was my most fun, actually. Fishbone sucked, which really surprised me as I called them out sometime ago but all morning into afternoon I couldn't stop dancing and then needed to breath before Panic CRUSHED their set, and thought Plant was underwhelming compared to his earlier set. The Umphrey set melted me.

Turns out I'm in better shape then I thought, though I did have to ice both knees most of Monday night.

Amazing time, amazing people, and looking forward to doing it again.
