Awright, this is what I think isn't fair...I've been a volunteer for the past two years, but I'm not considered a Lumni so I can't get a discount if I decide to pay to come next year?

This year they did at least offer an early bird price, which was not much more than the Lumni price. The early bird and 'lumni discounts are relatively short lived.
I balance the risk of something preventing me from going against the discount, and would rather buy late at the higher price--that strategy especially pertains to higher priced tickets. Plus I am solo so my discount is not as great as a couple's or family's.
But the other side is watching out for a sell-out, such as GA-RV. If they keep the same configuration VIP car camping could sell out; it was about full this year.
