So, you look forward to this fest for months, it comes, it is amazing, and then it is gone. It leaves a bit of a hole in your schedule and your life.

The best cure is more live music. What does everybody have coming up? We have a full fall schedule which leans a bit heavy on the Bluegrass. Some of the groups we have coming up between now and December include:

Greensky Bluegrass
Yarn (a couple of times at least)
Dead and Company (at MSG and Verizon Center)
Yonder Mountain String Band
Keller Williams ThanksforGrassGiving (with Traveling McCourys and others)
DSO
The Black Lillies

We may add some to this but this is shaping up to be a pretty good fall/early winter.

Just won tickets to see Sturgill Simpson tonight at The Jefferson Theatre in Charlottesville! Which is awesome, because my husband and I were just looking on ebay the other day to see how much we could get tickets for since the show is sold out. Heyyyyyo!! I guess that will do just fine for curing my post-lockn blues!

All is in New Orleans. The Landing Festival, is a brand new thing put on by Galactic and a famous music venue here. There have been discussions ongoing for about 2 years about building an amphitheater at this harbor on Lake Pontchartrain, it is a bit of a ways from the city center and you have to pass through some not so great areas of town. I think this festival is sort of a test run to see if they can actually get people out that way to see music before actually going through with development of the amphitheater and other infrastructure.

Would be great because New Orleans has tons of great theaters but no outdoor venues other than big festivals and stages set up in parks.

- also only the first line is the festival, the rest are just acts playing in theaters and bars over the next month.

Saw Zappa plays Zappa open for Return to Forever at Merriweather Post a few years ago, second row, center. Great show. Just too bad I I was running a 102° fever and had to move back to less crowded area.

A little early in October for a masquerade ball if you ask me, and a bit late in the season to camp in Central PA, but losing my mind to Pink Talking Phish while everyone else and I are in costume? That has to be a good time!

Luckily, it appears that we'll have the tail-end of the Indian summer we've been having this past week here. The concert area is a mud-pit when it rains, so I can just imagine if it was raining, muddy AND cold. A feller'd have to be pretty committed to having a good time to have a good time in those conditions...

PS: Lumpy Gravy is not a Zappa cover band, much to my disappointment.
