This forum has given me a ton of knowledge about festivals and bands I've never heard of before. My kids are young so it's been all about raising the family for the last 5 years or so, and I've been way out of the loop. Before becoming a Mom, it was all about the music, and the festivals and shenanigans in general. The Shindig you mention in Clayton (which is a very short drive from my home
Just saw they were announced for a Beer festival in Clayton, along w/ the Black Lillies (and I think Big Something as well) sometime in October. That one is intriguing. I used to live just outside Clayton so I could get to see some old friends. It's also a great lineup
) is on my calendar! I've never heard of Yarn before and just briefly listened to a track and I think The Shindig is shaping up to be an extra large time, looking forward to seeing them live! I am loving all the information here!! Thanks guys and gals

Went on a run and listened to Hoist and Junta followed by the Hollywood Bowl episode of Analyze Phish. Maybe it was the humidity and distance but when Harris and Scott yell " this is really good" " Yeah man, really good. It's FUNKY!" During the Harry Hood jam, I just couldn't stop laughing it loud. Peel in cars may have thought I had issues.

Grand kids screaming and splashing around in the pool. Steaks sizzling on the BBQ. Slight pounding in my head cuz I woke up to breakfast booze instead of coffee. Lovin every minute of it.

I completely agree. These Alpine shows blew my mind. This Althea is totally owned by John Mayer. The crowd around me were stunned. A FAR superior show than what we saw last year and even far better than a few weeks ago in Charlotte.As good an Althea as I have ever heard.

So I have been checking out Lettuce, and found a gig on YT that was filmed in Asheville NC that is pretty damn good. But I stumbled across Snarky Puppy too.
This kid Jacob Collier who's playing the Steinway in the above vid, just makes that piano scream, I AM A STEINWAY! Around the 4 minute mark he gets a lil solo action, and you REALLY can hear the beauty of a Steinway. It's a sound like no other for sure. Not a huge jazz fan, but Snarky Puppy rocks this one. Love the sousaphone! The last 3 notes are spot on. It reminds me of Garcia's with everyone wearing headphones. These guys are as tight as a flea collar on a tick! Check it out.

And for my acoustic contribution, I have fallen in love with this one. I doubt it...but I would love to hear Chris play this one acoustically @ Lockn. His new album comes out on the 24th of this month. His brother Rich's new album is pretty damn good too.
