They showed this video. I recall the song from my youth, but a different version - with some serious changes to the lyrics.
The song is a translation from a French song. Quick WikiLook says the original English translation was done by poet Rod McKuen (whose name I clearly recognized, but I am not a poetry fan) and this is a performance of the song by him. Early 60's.
The song is a dying man speaking to his best friend, his father and his wife. Pretty interesting for the early 60's - definitely not an American folk song.
I'm sure you will recall the song, You can probably sing along to the chorus, but listen to these lyrics. Definitely changed for the popular version I recall. I certainly did not, in my recollection from decades ago, associate this song with death, even though it made clear in the song. Such an upbeat chorus for a dark song.
Just something that tweaked my interest on an otherwise boring afternoon.
Seasons in the Sun
Someone I love has covid. I guess it's a good thing that only just now do I personally know anyone with it, but I'm so afraid for her.
Crickets and cicadas sing... A rare and different tune...

Sometimes watching a band that makes an effort to do something visually other than stand around and strum guitars is a refreshing change of pace.
I saw Rubblebucket at Roo and Festy in 2019. Clever, talented, and cheerful.

Shooter never really did much; I thought he might turn into a Hank Jr.--which in my book is not a good thing. He tried to lean more to hard rock with a twang. I think the name carried him for a while, but the talent wasn't there.

Shooter stills puts out good stuff and has a weekend show on XM Outlaw Country channel. Shooter and Jessi did release an album of people doing Waylon songs called The Music Inside, but no REK cover on that one. REK was involved on the CMT special in @2010 honoring Waylon called Outlaw.
