There are deadheads who don't listen to Drums/Space??? WTF...

i think that maybe you are talking about two different things here. D/S live and D/S on tape. Many people would leave for a piss break at this point of the show but I always enjoyed it. Many such as yourself prefer to skip over this section on recordings, because you can. That is cool too. Now when you are talking about DSO remember that their "thing" is to recreate Dead shows as close as possible. If the original show has D/S then I think that the DSO version should as well. You can always go grab a beer or walk outside during this segment, lots of us truly enjoy it. It can take you "there".

Talking about Space one of my favorites is known as Raven Space and is from 4/19/82 in Baltimore. The band was partaking in nitrous on stage while Phil raps to The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. Will never forget walking up to a crew in Louisville in the 90s at a show that must of had ten tanks going. We walked up and everyone loaded up on balloons and my friend hit play on his tape deck to this version of space. Let's just say that the next 11 minutes were quite entertaining to say the least.

I stumbled onto something last night, quite by accident, that I found very moving. I was just surfing around looking for something new and found a band called Playing for Change doing a cover of Gimme Shelter. It was awesome. Wound up listening to a couple of hours of their music. There were some common threads among the musicians, but it was less a band and more like a collective. There were a few performances where all of the musicians were on stage together. Most were mixed from individual performances across the globe. A few high profile musicians joined from time to time; Anders Osborne, Adrian Belew, Keb Mo & Keith Richards. But, mostly it was just people from all over the world having fun.

It represents everything I love about music and people. I plan to learn more. Check it out.

I saw one of the performances of "Take Me To The River" at Three Rivers Stadium (duh). It is. of course, not a Talking Heads song but a cover of the venerable ol' Rev. Al Green.

I like that and the other covers by The Commitments. That was a good movie with a good soundtrack.

That second set sounds dreadful, which may be the point. How is it?

I watched Tubular Bells as well. Great stuff! Would love to see The Musical Box, do you have a link by any chance?
