and why I don't have Sirius. This station is owned by a guy named Hornsby up in Williamsburg.... I like the way the GD does those teasers or clues to the next song, too. Often at the end of Space or similar jams, and the transition out of them into a song can be magical. They also do that with intros; DSO does that a lot and especially for the encore making a fun "name that tune." But fun as that is, it's not worth listening to the whole Space/drums jam. Like turning some 8 year olds loose in the percussion area of the high school band room. I do the same thing. When I play an album/CD I never skip songs and always play it as it was released. Hell I don't even skip past drums/space when I listen to a show. Try this sometime. Pick a band and listen to all of their albums from first to last, beginning to end in one sitting. Try it with the Beatles for example. Go to Wikipedia and look up their discography. Go to YouTube type in the name of the album and add "full album" at the end, they are all there, and listen to them all in one sitting. You can do it in about 8 hours. Pretty amazing to hear the evolution of their music like this. That is what I do with all the older stuff. Zeppelin, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, etc. I feel like those artists put it out as an album to be listened to as it is presented. 
I don't listen to a ton of newer albums so don't really do the same as much with them. Maybe I should though because I love listening to entire albums for the older stuff and have found a ton of lesser known songs that I love because of that.

Man, I almost always skip Space. I'm at home or in the car and I don't need any 7th inning stretch, thank you. I've tried listening to them and some of them are just downright unlistenable. Just an excuse for Billy and Mickey to go smoke a joint before the feelz portion of the show. Ain't nobody got time for that.
Ugh. Some people go around listening to nonsense like Grayfolded. I can see being an obsessive enough completist to own it, but listen? YEESH!
Half the time I skip Drums too, but at least that's got rhythm...

I love some of the transitions out of Space into the next song. You know one of the band members might telegraph what song they want to go into next five minutes before they get there. And then they spend the next five minutes moving from Space to that song, I just love that part. I could be at a show with my girl, hear two bass lines from Phil during Space, look at her and say The Other One is next and five minutes later there it is. Hearing six musicians playing in six different directions and then arriving back at the same place a few minutes later is just amazing to me.Man, I almost always skip Space. I do it mainly for the GD station and JamOn but JamOn has gotten to the point where they are playing Dave Matthews what feels like every 3rd or 4th song (probably more like every 7 or 8th) and I just cant deal with that. I will say, during the heat of last year when we had to stick to camp, the full weekend live broadcast was AWESOME! The delay was about 5 seconds which you could clearly here if you turned down the volume. We felt like we did not miss anything.
Nice. If i had your radio station I wouldnt have to pay for Sirius.

The NMS/Turkuaz show Wed night was smoking. And that isn't even NMS drummer. Simon was back home with a family medical situation.Since I saw them early this week, I've been diving into New Mastersounds. Can not believe how good they are. Will never miss a show nearby ever.

Never-ending Christmas music while I'm at work. This greatly decreases my desire to listen to Christmas music at home. Which greatly decreases my risk of divorce.

Listened to the Townes, Steve Earle, and Guy Clark live.then I recommend Steve Earle's album "Townes"A lot of Townes Van Zandt
That was in '95, just a bit before Townes passed.
Amazing stuff. Year, Steve Earle is a big Townes fan.

I like Ry Cooder too. There's a good album called "Music by" and it's his soundtrack music, such as from Young Riders and Crossroads.
