Modern Jazz Quartet "The Last Concert." This was one of my father's and my favorites so I think of him when I play it. Start with the classic Bag's Groove, which Miles Davis did while Milt Jackson was with him, but Milt owns it. I love the vibes and recall one of the Lockn bands had one--was it Moe? Should be on more jam stages; it's a transcendent sound that can't be copied by a keyboard. Excellent. I am going to have to spin it again. I only got a few songs in before stupid people scheduled stupid meetings about stupid stuff. Outstanding cover of Voodoo Chile performed by All Them Witches.
Entire album's pretty damn good. Gonna have to find a flac of this one.
Damnit, $20 on The Amazon, It'll be here Friday.
All Along the Watchtower reminds me more of a cover of Dave Masons version that Jimi's or Bob's. Good stuff!

Carlo Rossi among other "poverty jugs". Before that, in high school, it was strictly Boone's Farm, although Night Train Express if you really wanted to make a statement. Every boy drank one Thunderbird to reach maturity; seldom any more.
A Mad Dog drinker in college prevailed upon us to make "Dead Dog"--grain punch (trash can, of course) with Mad Dog wine. Once. We hung over the whole campus with that one.
