for a really nice ride, type "Moonalice" into your Pandora "radio station". they seem to only play MA from one album, but the rest are really good matches and some fairly esoteric stuff

Listened to/watched the Jefferson Airplane tribute set last night. Honestly probably the most disappointing set of the weekend for me I mean, it was good and I enjoyed it. I just couldn't get over the feeling that it could have been amazing and fell short of that by a good distance. Maybe my epectations were too high.

when I was staying with some people in Australia in 1980 who did not have any country I'd play that and The Girl with Far Away Eyes for the fix. "Dead Flowers" is close, too

They may have recorded that in Muscle Shoals; I know they did some recording there.

I finally had time to go to the music store today (BK Music in Richmond, VA).   Listened to two of my new purchases this afternoon.

First - Alberta Cross' new CD.   I was not familar with this band.   Interesting sound, really need to give it another listen to make a good opinion.

Second - Ryan Adam's 1989....holy crap, this may be one of the best things he has done in years.   Full disclosure, I took my 14 yr old niece to see Taylor Swift this past summer.   Ryan Adam's remake of her entire album proves that good song-writing makes good music...one just needs to hear it in a style they enjoy.   My Niece enjoys the pop top 40 sound of TS; while I enjoy the alt-country/rock influenced sounds of RA.   Music is a beautiful thing.
