Jammed last night to the debut album from Mama's Pride. Exceptional band. Hard for me to believe they didn't have a longer and stronger career.

interesting--I'd call it jazz, not rock--how about you? But makes me think some of Ginger Baker's Airforce.

I just found this--recorded here in myhometowninNorfolkVirginia with Billy Cobham and Oteil Burbridge. The venue "The Boathouse" was literally a warehouse on a dock on the harbor, cement floor, tin roof and walls, rough acoustics; killer bands. When it first started, it was keg beer, free heavily salted popcorn, and a row or portapotties against one wall.
This recording has a lot of talking but still....Scarlett opener means a good show!

I've seen a show or two there back in the day. Can't remember who though. Phish played there in 1992, bet that was a hoot...I just found this--recorded here in myhometowninNorfolkVirginia with Billy Cobham and Oteil Burbridge. I went to a few shows at the Boathouse when I lived down here in the late 80s. This wasn't one of them(unfortunatly). I was really hoping someone was going to do something musicish with the property it once stood on, but no. Too bad. The list of groups that played that venue is impressive. thanks for the band list--go back to the early 80's--wow. Gregg Allman, David Crosby, the Band, the Ramones....I went to a few shows at the Boathouse when I lived down here in the late 80s. Doubtful. is this the same band currently out of Nashville? I didn't know they have been around that long; it's a good name to recycle.
