2016 Festy will be at Oak Ridge Farm

well that's kinda cool, i guess. hopefully it's a good way for dave and pete to make up some revenue and encourages them to improve permanent infrastructure.

Also heard talk of DelFest moving to Oak Ridge Farm.
If so and still over Memorial Day Weekend would be in direct conflict with another great Virginia festival, RoosterWalk.

Hope they move it to a time when I could actually break away from work...

they would also need to avoid being too close to Floyd Fest--so spring makes sense even though spring is much more likely to have rain, but a welcome end to winter, as Geoff said (w/ my edit in the last line):

So maybe they combine DelFest and Festy and have over Memorial Day weekend? That would be awesome!

I have mixed feelings about this. If the Stringdusters and Devils Backbone are having differences then moving it to the BRB is an obvious answer. However, I'm not sure that moving the date is required. They are not trying to tap the same markets. Some of us are but not most. And as much as I like the BRB it is no where near the same camping experience as the DB facility over the ridge in the Rockfish Valley. That place in early Oct is simply beautiful. Del Fest moving to BRB would be a pretty major deal and I don't know how much I believe that rumor. If it did I still don't see them combining the two fests. I guess time will tell.

Yeah, true dat. The Devil's Backbone site is one of the prettiest for camping. Was the weather nice this year?

That's what I'm saying. Views from Oak Ridge are cool and all that but Devils Backbone views blow them away.
