Just pulled the trigger on a NYE party headlined by NRPS. The promoters don't even have a website; just an event page on Facebook. The peculiar thing is, by virtue of having gotten a room for the night at the convention center where it's held...we're VIP.
So what are your NYE plans? Or are most of you doing Xmas Jam and that's it?

Xmas Jam for mid-December then a local party with bonfire and band for NYE, staying in our camper. Then we are pulling our camper to Misty mountain Campground near Charlottesville for Friday and Saturday and seeing The skip Castro Band with The Nighthawks at the Jefferson in Cville Sat. night.
Did I mention I'm Greek?

Just announced: Cabinet 12/29 & 12/30 at the same place we saw them last year. Thought it would've been announced before now. I think we're actually gonna try doing all of it.

I may have posted too soon about nye. Looks like I may be going back to holston river brewing to catch folk soul revival. Check em out, they are very good live and are from the city I grew up in.

Couch tour for Joanne & me. A lot safer. I don't do good with rookies on the road. Plus the fact that you would have to drive a couple of hours to see anyone good around here. Of course if someones getting something together at Worf's house I don't mind trash... um visiting someone's home.

Looked at that. Would've saved us some $, cuz Sue would have enough Marriott points for a free room by then (hey, there's some benefit to all that business travel!), but I really want to do a proper NYE show. I live far, far away from Oakland and those Cabinet shows are always before New Years's, so I've never gotten to.Working New Years but seeing JRAD at the Capital theater on 1/1 & 1/2
Anyway, it's all a great way to cap off what's been a just AMAZING year of music. I fear next year we may have to significantly slow down or else go broke. Or worse yet, I may have to return to...

To me a proper NYE involved Bill Walton dressed as Father Time riding on a giant disco ball over your head while Bill Graham does the countdown. At midnight the balloons drop and the boys break into Sugar Magnolia. I had to drive from Virginia to California to see it but dammit I did it!

That sounds like Joanne. She's still not walking without help after shattering her femur Oct. 3rd. A plate & 9 screws. She said almost the same thing today leaving work & wishing everyone a happy new year. It sucks to be you & Joanne but good times are ahead. And remember if you got medicine & it has a label that says alcohol may intensify this medication, that just means it makes it better. Yes, it does!
