but when there are 6 racks of ribs fresh off the smoker, 10 dozen wings straight out of the fryer, a mound of homemade corn flake encrusted chicken tenders and a pile of shrimp the veggie chili seems to go under aprreciated.

Not me. My veggie chili kicks some serious ass. I anticipated a few more vegies there but the ones that were there didn't consume with the same gusto as the carnivores.

I call mine "chili bean soup" if I don't put meat in it. I never put in meat substitutes like tofu or turkey.
But I can set a bowl of my real chili on a vegan's head and watch his tongue beat a hole through his skull to get to it.
