In the morning there is one band that plays. Will either be at the Woods or Blue Ridge Bowl stages, which are located in the campgrounds. Probably at the Blue Ridge Bowl, since that is how they did it last year.
Late night, there are acts on both the Woods stage and the Blue Ridge Bowl. The Woods stage is farthest from the main stages, and will begin music almost immediately after main stage acts end. Maybe 30 minutes. Hard to say exactly based on last year with one day of the fest changing up the schedule. About an hour-hour or so after main stage acts, the late night act will start at the Blue Ridge Bowl. So there will be overlap between the 2 late night shows.
It is generally not feasible to go from the last main stage act, to the first late night act in the Woods, and then to the 2nd late night act at the Blue Ridge Bowl. If you stay to the end of the main stage act, by the time you make it to the woods (outside of riding a bike or getting a gondola taxi) the set will be half over. Then you walk back to the Blue Ridge Bowl and probably get the 2nd half of that show.
Blue Ridge late night shows seem to always go longer. They're usually the bigger act, also.
All of that is to say, the only choice you'll have to make between seeing bands is after midnight.

Break this shit down and you'll find that Lockn' has the highest music per minute ratio (mpmr) of any festival in the country.
Other festivals might have more bands, but multiple stages and breaks between sets limits the amount of time you can actually spend listening to music. At Lockn' you can consume up to 16 hours of live music in a day. It is wild. Wild I tell you.
