Haynes. Last Waltz Supergroup Tribute. NOLA 4/30

Oh my!! Sure would be awesome to have this at Lockn. Maybe NOLA is a warm up. 

I use the hunt-and-peck method. Just like when I type.

Not a dress rehearsal.

1) Last Waltz was a one time deal and this will be too.

2) The date for this is 4/30. You don't have a dress rehearsal for a performance 4 months in advance.

Too bad. This will probably kick serious ass. I would think about going but we already have plans for that weekend.

Neither is the Core Four or Phish.

Where isn't Phish gonna play?

While maybe this will only happen once with Warren as curator, but the Last Waltz was on Thanksgiving night in San Francisco. There is no way this will be the only one of these tributes, especially with it being 7 months before the real anniversary.

Well, Joe Russo has been doing a tribute to Last Walz at the Capitol for a couple of years

I would love that. And some kind of thing at Lockn is still a possibility but I doubt it. Unless it is a Robbie Robertson led one and I don't see that either. If he was into it he would be the one heading up the NOLA show. He could still be one of the players but it doesn't feel that way. They would have announced the hell out of that right up front. It would kind of be kinda stepping on Warrens toes and while a one time LW Tribute is right in Lockns sweet spot it won't be the one time ever thing like JA or MDE was. Not unique just another one.

I still think we get some kind of tribute colab that we haven't even thought of yet. My personal favorite would be a Sly Stone/TTB or a Joplin/TTB set. Too early for a Cheap Thrills 50th (2018)  or anything out of Sly's catalog but what the hey.

I think as long it is the ONLY place to see something like MDE they will keep it up in some shape or form. I don't think they will settle for just being one of the places you could see something like that. Even if they don't come up with a mind bender this year I'll be ok. I mean MDE & JA are an insanely tough act to follow.

And speaking of Woodstock2019, I wonder who owns the franchise name?
