AV Nation interview with Dave Frey

Great interview! Glad to know that there will be a turntable (rotating) stage. Studies have shown that 24 miles per hour is the best speed for a rotating stage ( coincidentally the same average air speed of an unladen European swallow). I see the whole thing going down something like this....

One rotating stage now. So many changes. Will it be too many, too fast for me/her/both of us?

Worst production from a group purporting to be a resource for AV production professionals EVAR. Was Dave their big get? Whose cousin knows him tangentially?

What was up with the webcam angle on Dave? Did he just get his sun-room done and want to show it off? Every time he's on camera, it looks like desktop wallpaper. We should make some stills and start a "Dave Sez" meme.

Knew it took a miracle to pull 2015 off; seriously low-balled the magnitude of that miracle. The host seemed to think the overall vibe was attaboy, but who cares what he thinks? Not three guys on reddit and one severely unbalanced forum commenter, that's for sure.

I don't feel like Thursday 2015 was erring too much on the side of caution. I think emptying the field in 2014 was, though.

so, turntable stage. does that mean one bad on each side and it turns between each set? or is there going to be a stage in the middle of the crowd constantly rotating? sorry, i dont have the patience to listen to that 45 min interview today

It's been done before at music fests and is a common thing in theater production. Check out Goose Lake Festival . It seemed to work well there in 1970.

They are going to use the rotation of the stage to accomplish the quick change instead of having side by side stages.

It will be interesting to see how they reconfigure the layout for the turntable stage. However it is I see it as being an improvement for GA and the VIP area getting smaller if it remains in the middle like the last two years. Or they could put the GA back in the middle and split the VIP on the ends (hope not). Ideally they could stack the VIP section over top of the GA viewing area and we could both be centered on the stage. Of course beer spillage from the VIP above could be a problem for the GA below but I guess that is what raincoats are for.

Curious to find out what announcements are going to make people "freak out".

Well for the sake of GA, I hope the young lady who squatted and peed in GA in front of me last year doesn't upgrade to VIP this year 

At least she stayed put and danced in her own puddle
