Is it more that Trey just likes Ween so phans like them too or is it that they actually have something in common musically?
We saw "Gene Ween" about... six? years ago at the High Noon Saloon in Madison. We were out having a smoke, he pulled up, grabbed his guitar and waved everyone off, walked onstage, performed, then got into his car (still waving fans off) and drove himself away.

It's two comedian friends, one a fan (Harris Wittels of Parks and Rec fame, who later passed, RIP) and a not-fan, Scott Auckerman, from Comedy Bang Bang. Harris basically spends each episode trying to explain Phish, their appeal, and by the end get Scott to become a fan. And it is HILARIOUS! My husband and I are actually going to be listening to it again on our way to Lockn'.
So if you have long commutes, work in the garden, go for walks, download the podcast and give at least the first episode a try. You won't regret it.

It wasn't until Greensboro 2003 that I got to see Phish. Only listened to Hoist before seeing them. Not real impressed. They rocked so much harder than I expected. I really thought it would be endless pointless noodley shit that didn't go anywhere. Seen them every chance I've had since then. Can't wait to see what they do at Lockn.

in the meantime, we are heading for Floyd tomorrow. Gonna camp two nights along the Blue Ridge Parkway and then take a short drive down the Parkway for five days of the always excellent Floydfest.

I've never tried "Re-Listen" but I'll have to check it out. I've been using "PhishOD" for a few years now. It's a tremendous app for listening to almost every archived phish show (nearly 1500 of the possible 1600?). Even Trey has mentioned he uses it regularly.
