The Arrival Thread

3 to 4 more hours wait for security according to the brave rep from the fest who came out to the clusterfxxx lot. already been waiting since 11. offered us the opportunity to pull to a different lot and go into the show. but at this point I'm too angry to enjoy music or even think about going through security and setting up camp after the show.

We also were diverted off 29 to a new entrance, which is really just a straight shot into campground 2. First one must be full. We have been in line exactly 2 hours and are about to get checked. There are four lanes of check-in at the top of the campground. Will let ya know how the search goes!

Total time from meeting festy traffic to setting up our tent was 2 hrs 3 minutes. Not bad, but I feel for all my homies who had to suffer. Hopefully everyone will overcome and be feeling good by night fall.

Haven't moved since last post.

For those who made it in about two hrs.... were you coming in from north or south?

We turned onto Oak Ridge Rd at 10 am and were forced to turn into the Day Parking by the county police. We spent 6 hours there mostly sitting in traffic, if you can call it that. It was actually complete traffic chaos with ad hoc lanes that were disfunctional. It was also dangerous saw many minor collisions and some fights! There were no staff in the "cluster fuck" field to help and thought we would be there all night. We finally made it to the security check by 6 pm and Keller was playing by then, we also heard half of a Warren song as we drove by to the campground. It's 7:30 and our camp is set up. I have never witnessed such unnecessary chaos, this event has no organization and the staff we encountered were worthless!

There's pretty much only parked cars in day parking now.

Arrival was INSANE!!! 7 hours in the parking field. Ppl were giving up and just abandoning their cars...IDIOTS! Made it worse. I went with the "tonnage" logic in my 40 ft RV. Blocked idiots, made lanes, held my ground without an incident. HATS OFF to a few patrons that helped within the chaos directing traffic and a HUGE HATS OFF to VA State Police for stepping in to create order and a flow.

Rough start, missed all the shows today. But the rest of the weekend will be awesome.

Car Camping 1 was filled up first. There are actually some space still left. I would just show up and say that there is already a spot waiting for you in lot 1.

I arrived at 11PM and did not have 1 single car infront of us in line. My girl and I pulled right in and we have about 40 acres of camping space at our disposal (the parking field just goes and goes and goes and we are the last line in car camping 2)
