So Im roughly 2hrs from the spot & most likely going it solo... Just saying hello new family... I can not wait till the fest.. Done other fests before but not 4 days... Any love & light to kick start my knowlege about LOCKN will be kindly appreciated... #bekind

Don't give going solo a second thought. Easiest time I've ever had just chilling with whomever I was standing/dancing next to.

All the instant friends!! I went solo year one. Been to a bunch of shows solo. Enjoy the freedom. As great as it is hanging with a group of your closest friend is, going solo is like the freedom of having your own place for the first time. Not having to think about your group or wasting time trying to find them. Just enjoy where your at. No plan is the best plan for an event like Lockn'.

Welcome to insanity corner. The best place to help you get to the end of August. I'm a solo also. Done it both ways & it's nice both ways. Once you get packed in you will no longer be solo. And you'll have to come to the family reunion.

Wow thanks new fam I can't wait it's my first real vacation in lots of years I love music & the good vibe from camping out with others who do to, good to know others went solo too.. this is going to be so great.

I think that's great it being your first real vacation in years. And what a way to spend it with all those like minded people. This is my 3rd year all solo. I do SVIP & year 2 met up with a lot of people I met my 1st year. Plus you'll have to come to the meetup when it gets planed. See ya there. Welcome to the family. Did solo year one and three. Started off solo when i pulled in. Had new friends pretty soon after setting up the rv. At this point solo again this year. Can't wait.

A meet up reunion sounds great, I am on twitter patchoulidiver seen last years map and took some peeks on Google earth of the site it all looks amazing. Can't wait to hear all this great music and connect with y'all. Been in VA about 6 years and have been focused on building a life for myself after essentially loosing everything. Worked 70 hours a week between 2 jobs and no days off for a few years and that left little time for anything else. Hit me up on twitter and let me know if the meet up needs any potato salad or what have not. It looks like Wednesday early entry might become a thing which would be great. They said yesterday more news to come in June, this is going to be amazing. Thanks everyone.

Hello! This will be my first Lockn’ as well. I just joined the forum, and couldn’t find a “newbies introduction” type thread, so I hope it’s okay I’ll just join in with yours.
I’m Toryn, from Charlotte, NC. Not a solo, it will be my husband & me. We’ll be in GA Car Camping.
We are mainly coming to Lockn’ because of Phish, but I am looking forward to many of the other bands too, especially Tedeschi Trucks, Brandi Carlisle, and Twiddle.

My first too, obviously.. Very much welcome to have you join the thread.. as well as the festival... Ween is amazing and Phish always alluded me to see live.. I have been checking out the other bands on Spotify to get to know them... I had known of Twiddle and they seem to be one of the stand outs so far. I know what to expect from Umphrey's McGee, the Wailers, Hard Working Americans, & Tedeschi Trucks Band and that is to be wowed... I'd say if you have a Spotify app or go on You Tube and search some sounds out to get some idea of what you are looking at.. I definitely want to check as much out as possible but there will be so much that you are bound not to catch it all.. So having a plan of what you might be willing to miss as opposed to what you definitely want to check out might be a good idea. I read here "its a marathon, not a sprint" and that seems like the best advice. I am on Twitter @ Patchoulidiver... More to be announced coming up in June so that's more to explore till August... I grabbed a Forrest spot and can only go by last years map to try and guess where the spot will be.. The lockn Facebook page is hooked up to Facebook messenger too, it takes a while to get a response, but those conversations led me in the right directions.. This is pretty cool that so many are going solo. As we get closer, I may just give out my number in case someone needs to reach out to a friendly face. Though everyone is pretty damn friendly....

I'm going solo, too. I've been solo to plenty of concerts/one day festivals/travel but nothing like Lockn. Went last year though so I feel more comfortable about it than I would have otherwise. I can't wait!

I'm not actually camping solo, I am meeting a friend at the airport and we will camp together, but both of us are new to Lock'n. We also know a bunch of Bonnaroo friends that are going so I know I will feel at home immediately.
Never flown to a festival before so this will be challenging for sure!

You won't be disappointed. The festival grounds and views are fantastic. The people are much more the vibe of earlier Bonnaroos, maybe a bit older on average. We quit going to the Roo after 2011 as it morphed into Coachella for the east cost. Not hating, just not our scene anymore.
Had a solo camper next to us in 2014 and he quickly became part of our group. Even went with the wife for a morning show after i had a few too many the night before and didn't feel like getting out early.
