$125 for the host band, two headliners no one knew were still together, and a shit-ton of no-names? Strictly for the types who also go for New York State wine and cheese, if you ask me.

No need to be snippy. Part of the Finger Lakes/Shakori Hills (NC)/Virginia Key (Miami) GrassRoots Festival family. They are all pretty much the same fest with more emphasis on whatever area they are in but bringing in widely diverse music from all three areas. I've been to both the fall & spring Shakori editions and have friends that are involved with them. I know people that have gone to both the Finger Lakes and Virginia Keys ones as well. They are a great time and crazy diverse without being commercial in the least. You can see some great music you would never see otherwise. But wine & cheese crowd? Shit-ton of crap? Just a guess or personal experience or just needing to harsh on something?

No-names for sure. For folks around here that want to go to a festival and see a boat load of music with their kids but don't want to travel very far it works out well for them. Plus if the weather turns bad it is easy enough to load up the car and go sleep at home. It is largely the same people attending every year and has a real family carnival atmosphere to it. Lot's of fun and it is where I first saw a truly funk/psychedelic horn based Latin rock band named ¡Suénalo!. Very cool sound. Never heard of them before I stumbled on them there.

I think the long lists for Bonnaroo and large fests like that read the same way; after the first few layers, it's Who? Heard the name but what? Why? Is that...no, that's someone else.
I like some new stuff but too much unheard-of music (and not likely to be heard again) gets tiresome--the exception being supporting local talent. That's what I love about Lockn; I saw a lot of new stuff, but it fit, and was well mixed with the old. The best is when "new" is elevated to "first" as in, I'm going to try to see them again!
