Guy Clark died yesterday at 74. One of the great Texas troubadours with consistently good songwriting.
His "Desperados Waiting for a Train" spoke to me constantly during my father's final illness (even though he wasn't like the character in the song, other than an old man) and again as I see men of his generation age, fade and move on. I just learned that Guy's father and mine had similar lives.
LA Freeway, another classic, also recently "my Favorite Picture of You"
and of course=="there's only two things that money can't buy/that's true love and home-grown tomatoes."
Go listen to some. Run a whole album and find the good stuff in his writing.
