Highly variable. This year there is talk of them opening on Wednesday probably afternoon for some amount of people and/or time. Years past has been a Thursday morning target and they did for 1 & 2. Last year was all jacked up because of a storm so it wasn't until Friday sometime. We leave Wed night get there and in line for Thurs morn. We also take off Monday.when do they open gates to the venue? Trying to decide which days to take off.

Depends on how far you have to travel. I'm six hours away and I have always taken Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday off. I travel ovenight on Wednesday so I'm in line when gates open Thursday morning. I drive home on Monday, and then have all day Tuesday to recover before going back to work. A shorter drive can change the need for Tuesday.when do they open gates to the venue? Trying to decide which days to take off.

We have an 8 hour drive from Buffalo so it's not too bad.
But being able to set up on Wednesday night instead of driving through the night and setting up Thursday morning would be awesome.

I am a pretty laid back guy, but I was really annoyed at how ridiculously high all the volunteers have been. They are supposed to help me make decisions that I am struggling with in my own capacity, not confusing me more.

Hopefully, ease of entry will be back to at least L2 level. Fingers crossed for no major natural disasters this year. Hope I didn't just jinx us.

Asked a parking lot guy a question L2. Me: "Where is the box office." Stoned lot guy: "I don't know, there's a big event here." L1 you don't want to know.So my friends and I are coming from NJ and it looks like it's a little over 5 hours to get there. I want to leave around 4 am Thursday morning but another guy going with me wants to leave at noon on Thursday.
Once you get in line how long does it take until your in the venue?
Thoughts?
L2 five minutes from gate to parked at RV VIP, no line at gate.
L3 half hour gate to parked at VIP RV, 5 hours in line at gate.

We have about an 8 hour drive from Cleveland I'm guessing.... plan is to leave as soon as I can make my lady-friend wake up. I really wish school didn't start the week prior, I'd love to take the kids.... sucks that I shelled out so much in concert tickets for them for so many things, and here's 4 awesome days where they could attend for free, but nonetheless, school is priority (to someone else!)
I hope in the future they hold this earlier, as it truly does look great for kids (first time for this particular festy) but pulling them out of school is a no-go for me.
Look forward to attending, been pumped like Reebok for awhile for this one.... more than many other festivals I've been to.
