Looks like we will be lab rats this year for potential changes next year. Great to see them working along side local/regional/state authorities to ensure the relationship has longevity!

Lockn’ co-founder Dave Frey said 50,000 is about the maximum number he’d want to see for a camping event such as Lockn’, but he could see much larger one-day turnouts for noteworthy acts. The field at Oak Ridge can reasonably hold 135,000 people, he said.

This is probably the most reliable data that speaks to actual attendance numbers, if the newspaper did their due diligence properly.

On their face they look pretty credible to me, as I definitely thought 2014 was fuller than last year..

I wonder how much of the drop was due to the Thursday cancellation?

Also: would that be the total entries--so that if I'm there 3 days I only count once toward the 25,000, and each day tripper once per entry. The daily numbers would fluctuate. For traffic purposes, the cars are moving Thursday/Friday in, Sunday/Monday out, average (I'm guessing) 2 people per car?

The big traffic risk-of-failure, and I saw it first hand even out on 29, was with all the single-lane lines with no pull-off, and all it takes is one vehicle to break down (especially the decrepit RV's) and it all shuts down.
