this is my first lockn. What can you share with me about glamping? Tips? Tricks? Suggestions? Experiences? Reviews? What do I need to bring (I'm flying in)?
Im interested in all you have to share.
Thanks

there were some previous threads about glamping you should be able to find. Is that the same thing as Sherpa (already set-up basic tents) or is it the VIP with big furnished tents?

I have car camped VIP just down-hill from the VIP glamping tents. They look nicely furnished and roomy.
Bring a battery fan for each of you. A little circulation goes a long way.
The late stages are more of a dull roar from there.
Last year the elite toilets at the end of the glamping row were shut down from the beginning; there may have been others. Year before they broke down two nights in a row leaving them OOO in the morning (although that year only they were smart enough to leave 1 regular portajohn). So be ready to be flexible and creative; CID is 100% non-responsive when it comes to the repeated problems there.
I usually left my campsite wide open, maybe a few things like Granny's cast iron pan in the car.
Without a car, you can probably prevail on a neighbor for some trunk space. Thieving historically has not been a big problem but there has been some; "security" is non-existent in that regard, but you will find your neighbors trustworthy and the rest of the crowd generally so. At L2, however, there was a group of youths going around "trick-or-treating" during a main show but the easily could have been fence-hoppers.
Keeping the few desirables out of sight and out of easy access is really all you need to do; they want a quick grab. I would doubt that in VIP you'd have the beer/munchies raiders like you might find elsewhere (a different sort of thief IMO than a wallet/iphone thief).
I travelled the third world with a short length of stainless steel 1/8" cable with eyes and a padlock, similar to a cable luggage lock. Found it very versatile and could lock zippers shut as well as lock a pack to a bedframe, etc. so it wouldn't get snatched. Might be overload for lockn but it's pretty easy, too.
If you can buy/bring a cooler, do so. Ice it on the way in. They have an ice truck that goes around plus ice for sale nearby. Also get a water jug that holds a couple gallons.

While way overpriced, the advantages for us are quick setup/breakdown time and a power outlet (electric fans hooray). Our normal festival setup is close to glamping complete with marine battery power, but takes a good 2 hours to get setup and broken down.
CID site says they come with a lock.
Loved doing it at Electric Forest and super excited for Lockn.

Biggest difference I see here is Firefly had alot more amenities for the same price with a/c in the tents and seperate bathrooms and showers for glamping only and an area for glampers only with 24hr security so we didn't worry about valuables. Here it looks like you share everything with the rest of the VIP peeps, so it seems like you really only get the tent for your money. Probably isn't really worth the cost, but we are.lazy and like ease of setup and breakdown, so here we are. If anyone here has done Lockn glamping before chime in
