Anybody going to see DSO this summer (or fall)? I just found out they are playing here in Charlotte on August 2 at the BB&T Ballpark uptown, it's our minor league baseball stadium, just built a few years ago and is very nice. That seems like it would be an awesome place to see a show, with the city skyline in the background. It's $20, which isn't bad, but it's on a Tuesday night, which is the only bummer. I am thinking about going.

It's a blessing and a curse. Yes...it seems like everything comes to PA. But PA is a HUGE state. It'll take you a good 7 hours to drive the width of it. So even though we're in the center of the state, a lot of the stuff that comes here is a several hour drive from where we live. Tonight we're going to drive 3.5 hours each way to see Steely Dan at the Jiffy Lube....same distance it would have been to see it outside Pittsburgh.

So in short...we're really lucky with small festivals where we can camp. But to just see a show....if it doesn't come to State College, we're probably going to need a hotel (or at least a boatload of coffee for the drive home).

Don't miss them! This tour they aren't coming to myhomeinNorfolkVirginia probably due to the Chesterfield (state park) gig, unfortunately on a weeknight out in the boonies (in town shows on a week night are no problem).

We have a really great embedded Deadhead culture here, too. There's a lot of overlap of people running/working a lot of the local/regional fests. Big ol Commonwealth-wide family. And we're smack-dab in the middle of it.

Might be seeing them in central VA this Thurs. They are playing at the Pocahontas State Park, where they played the Very Jerry Bday Jam last year. Unfortunately, just a one night gig with no camping this year.

We have been lucky with DSO shows in Wilmington each year since about 2009, usually around late July/early Aug, except for last year and now this year we got skipped. Our hearts are missing them for sure, but I'm so happy to hear that they are on fire right now. That's awesome! Back in 2012, we took our barely one year old daughter and she had a blast!! If I could wish upon a star, I would go to the Pisgah shows. I have never been to that venue but I've heard it's really cool. And Pisgah has been my favorite brew since I stumbled upon their booth at the 2004 Brewgrass. To everyone going to the shows, have lots of fun and be safe.
