Pickles

I made my first ever batcDill's pickles last weekend. Bread and butter. I'm not much of a pickle eater, but these turned out pretty good. I used some cucumbers from the neighbors, and they weren't pickling cucumbers, per se, so the only challenging part was fitting the large slices inside the jars. I got 3 jars out of it.

Will surely have to do some more later this summer, as my cucumbers are exploding on the vines, first one should come off Friday.

I did a quick refrigerator pickle on some jalapenos that someone brought in at work. Added blanched carrot, raw Vidalia onion and grilled red onion. They are a bit too sweet but not bad for a first time.

Damnit, now I want pickles.

a 5 gallon bucket of pickles. Now there's a lifetime achievement!
