Not sure of others experience but we had a cleaning crew come by our set in the greenfield rv section about once every two hours. Couldnt believe it. And the sets in infiniti downs were also almost always spotless. Never a line in the main show field for mens or ladies. They hit a home run in this department.

Every porta-potty I was in this weekend had toilet paper every time. I never once entered one that was full-to-overflowing, where you are afraid to sit down...
The worst thing was a few times they were a little ripe, but it's a porta-potty, what do you expect?
Definitely maintaining them excellently. Very, very improved situation!

Night and Day from last year. We brought a "poop tent" this year and after seeing the conditions this year we made a no pooping rule. I preferred to walk the 100 yards to the portos instead of using the "pee tent".

The portos were so bad last year that a traveling companion bought and brought items like below. Not my idea but that was the plan. We purchase an extra tent only pass for it. The thought of anyone relieving themselves any where my tent is horrifying. We claimed spots by the road so we had a very nice buffer zone.

This is what we considered too, and it's been discussed here. I wanted a luggable loo or at least a makeshift one with cat litter, anticipating what the port-O situation was at L1, could be nothing had changed as I hadn't been back since then. A separate tent for this 'business' would've only made sense. I had bought a bunch of disposable "pee funnels" that allow females to stand up to pee. I never needed to use one.

I couldn't believe how clean they were and stayed. Prior to this, I thought only Blue Ox knew how to do portas right.

Same experience...clean all the time... Didnt quite get the lady/guy thing in the main show field. If you had to crap you had to head to the ladies...I guess it kept most of the nastiness as bay but thought it was strange nonetheless.

Welcome to the board piper! By having separate urinals for the men it keeps the lines at the porta pots to a minimum and keeps them much cleaner for the ladies.Same experience...clean all the time... In this day and age of gender equality and bathroom laws, the situation at the main venue really pissed me off, actually.
Women were provided with restrooms to relieve themselves of both forms of human waste. Men were provided with restrooms that only provided for urine. How is this fair? Can you imagine the outrage if the situation were reversed?
Also, there was no signage or anything to indicate that men could use them women's restrooms to relieve themselves. The guys in my crew had to leave the venue and use the portos in the campgrounds.
Pretty shitty, if you ask me.

Someone eventually wrote with a marker on the signs directing both genders to the opposing sides. There were some guys coming into the porto area when I was in there. Not quite sure why the guys didn't just automatically go into the girls side especially since there were portos. It's not like they'd be sitting in the open doing their business. I've gone into guys' bathrooms in the past when the girls' lines were too long & I had to go badly. If you gotta go, you gotta go. In this day and age of gender equality and bathroom laws, the situation at the main venue really pissed me off, actually.

I think that, at least for some guys, the notion of entering a restroom that is labeled for women isn't something that society deems acceptable. It never occurred to me that men could use the women's restrooms. If that were their intention, they should have labeled that side with the symbol for both men and women.

They could have just labeled the sections "URINALS" and "PORTAPOTTIES" instead of Men and Women. This way you're accommodating guys wanting privacy/having to take a deuce, girls using a She-wee or other standing urination device who don't need privacy, families (such as a dad taking his daughter to go pee), as well as trans/genderfluid/non-binary folks.

I agree the signage was confusing. My first thought when I went in was, "Why is this designated only for females? All the portos are self contained." So, next time, just go on in and if anybody calls you on it just tell them, "buddy74 said it's OK."

I think all of the options should just be labeled with the Prince symbol and let everyone choose. The Blue Ox festival we attended in June had the cleanest portas I had ever experienced at any festival. And I still opted to use my She-Wee simply for convenience. Trust me on this one ladies...get a She-Wee and wear a skirt over men's boxer briefs. Easy stand up access AND prevents chafing!
