If the bitrate is high enough, most of the tones removed by compression can't be heard by the human ear in the first place. Pono was just an excuse to remove stuff
that I already paid for without looking like Taylor Swift.
Joke's on Neil. I paid for that music multiple times, under multiple formats, starting with cassette in the 80s. I make no bones about the fact that I stole his entire discography from a Bittorrent site, and I'd do it again.
