With their much-anticipated New York City debut performance at this year’s massive Brooklyn Comes Alive event on Saturday, October 22nd (tickets here), Reed Mathis’ Electric Beethoven project has just announced that the group will play a handful of additional intimate performances the following week in the Northeast, with a show at the Ardmore Music Hall, as well as two intimate clubs in NYC.
Mathis, along with Todd Stoops, Jay Lane, and Clay Welch will bring their “Classical Dance Music” to New York City venues The Cutting Room on Tuesday, October 25th and DROM on Wednesday, October 26th. Each of these NYC performances will see the group take on a different symphony each night, with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 being played on the first night, and Symphony No. 6 slated for the second night.
Over the course of the last couple of years, Mathis put together a who’s who for their soon-to-be-released album, Beathoven, featuring Phish’s Mike Gordon and Page McConnell, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Galactic’s Stanton Moore, The Greyboy Allstars’ Robert Walter, Matt Chamberlain, The Barr Brothers and more. To bring the music to life, Mathis assembled another all-star cast of musicians, and recently debuted the project at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA to rave reviews.
The group is also scheduled to make their Philadelphia-area debut at the Ardmore Music Hall on Sunday, October 23rd, and is also set to appear at Catskill Chill Music Festival.
What happens if I take both?
