Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Ah, the Dart. When my uncle and his family returned from a long job overseas he bought a pair of them. Corncob? There was a college-circuit band in Virginia, maybe out of Lynchburg, in the late 70's called "Dodge D'Art". Clever. Corncob? Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

Nick inherited a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville from his parents when they upgraded to Cadillac, and it is still my favorite car that we ever had. I love big boat car that feel like you're floating down the highway. We had to finally junk it three years ago after many, many repairs.
If I need a more reliable car for long trips, we rent (like we did for Lockn') or just borrow one of my sister's. Her husband is a finance manager for a car lot so they always have the nicest, newest cars.
Yes, that is a very cold and pissed off Nick in the background (I was driving and at fault).

My dad bought an embarrassing Ford Grenada when my sisters were in high school that we called the Green Odor.
And when a friend, at 45, got one of those Sebring convertibles his wife dubbed it "his mid-life Chrysler."

RIGHT?! I can handle snow (could actually, before this, now I have major anxiety). It was just rain, and then the temp dropped and it became this thick slippery slush. Some douche was riding my ass after moving over to the left lane (due to a tow truck driver helping another accident). So I moved to the right lane in a panic, hit an un-plowed island of slush, whipped around, stared into the headlights of a semi, and whipped up that hill striking the highway sign that sliced my poor car in half.
Three months later at a family reunion, I found out it was my cousin-in law's husband who was riding my ass, and he thought it was funny and did not seem to realize his ass-riding caused it (he only said he was behind me). I've never spoken to him since and its been about five years.

I was about 19 and have never gotten over it. My anxiety has only increased through the years. So, if it's not an emergency, I stay off the roads when winter weather hits.

Both our cars, and the house, are in Sue's name. You don't give the deed to either one to a guy who may or may not have sporadic fits of impulsive behavior.

2. 1987 VW Jetta (hand me down from my dad)
3. 1994 Saturn SL2. My first ever brand new car. Sold it when I was living in Chicago and went carless for a few years.
4. 1987 Toyota Corolla hatchback. Had duct tape accents, a ton of rust, and the passenger seat wouldn't sit upright. But for $900 it was the perfect city car.
5. 2003 Pontiac Vibe. My second ever brand new car. I loved the hell out of this thing and drove it 168,000 miles before the transmission gave up the ghost.
6. 2008 Toyota Prius. A second car when Worf and I got together and his Taurus needed to go. Worf uses it to drive Uber now.
7. 2004 Subaru Forester. 160,000 miles and going strong, this was the very used replacement when the Vibe died.
