It's been an interesting holiday week in and around Arrington.
A small fire in Amherst, originally 25 acres in the George Washington National Forest, has involved 11,229 acres as it moved North. Now mostly contained, Rain forecast for this week will help.
Another fire in Lovingston, very near the intersection of 29 & 56 that served as the RV entrance to the Farm, has now involved 1,600 acres. Now fully contained. Again, looking forward to the rain.
Our place not at risk but dusted in ash. Was a little scary waking up to smoke and ash and not knowing its origin. Kudos to all firefighters and support staff that worked to contain these two events.
