On the one hand, I want ticket sales to go through the roof in order to guarantee this festival's future. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the small crowds and intimacy of 2013.
Yes, there were many things that need to be fixed, but for a first year festival, I think it went really really well. I absolutely subscribe to the concepts and ideals that the organizers pushed for. This is such a unique festival; I hope it continues for years to come and changes very little.

You are not alone.

Last year's crowd was damn near the perfect size. Another 10,000 people and the main venue will almost certainly start to feel crowded (assuming they leave it the same size). That being said, I'll deal with a crowd if it means we get Lockn' 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 . . .

Agree with dool...biggest yet to come!...although the thought of Furthur coming together once more in '14 or a "Furthur Incident" would do it for me!

...that being said, Panic,P&F, Ratdog and SCI were enough to get me to jump at the 'lumni price.

Not ignoring. Phil and Ratdog does not equal Furthur. ABB for one night, and I am expecting everyone's individual bands on other nights. I will not be surprised with a Phish announcement, or at least Neil Young and Crazy Horse. It has to be bigger than last year for it to make money.

Just committing on drool's statement. With what we get in music the price is fair. I also bought my tickets as soon as 'lumini tix were released. and 199 for prefered tent only. Going to be real nice to be camping close for beer sneaking purposes!

I am not sure why we are reverting to calling names. I noticed on the line-up speculation page you were both about to wet yourselves over the next big announcement. A little bit hypocritical:). As I stated before these guys are in this to make money. That is what they said when they started Lockn'. It is just my opinion they will need a bigger act than what they have now to sell more tix. Just like last year with NYCH. By the way I got my VIP and VIP RV camping within minutes of tickets going on sale, just like last year. I love the line-up, but in my opinion there will be something else big. Peace.

I was wet when I saw the first announcement! Anyway, what is the official word on attendance last year? NY&CH didn't cancel till like a month before the event, (from my foggy memory). How much ticket sales where really lost because of that? In my mind TAB is not a headliner replacement, so I agree that this year will have a larger crowd.

it was a month or two before lockn that they canceled. i think a big thing that hurt ticket sales last year was how late they were to actually put the tickets up for sale. they've recognized that and solved it. from what i remember about the rumors, and I have no official source, was that there were about 25,000 people there. if i had to guess, i'd bet it will go up by 10k this year. tickets are out much earlier, the lineup so far is amazing, and the reviews from last year (apart from some disorganization) were very good. the only other fest i'm even remotely interested in this year besides lockn' is Wanee; they also have one hell of a lineup. most of the other fests seem to be moving toward catering to the rave kids and dubstep crowd. roo's lineup will be out in a month. we'll see if that will be worth it. i just dont like so much of the ticket price going towards paying for shitty bands and groups i have zero interest in seeing. i have met a lot of really cool people there in the past, if you can get past all the kids. one of my favorite parts about lockn' was the maturity of the crowd and their ability to handle their party favors
