Since you are able to camp there all year long, I will be arriving 4 days before it starts and staying one more day after it is over.
But, even though Lockn' and Wanee are two entirely different types of venues, I can't wait for Lockn'2 in Sept.

And the camping vibe is ahe finest I've ever seen. Beautiful scenery, especially by the river and the lake. Fun, cool people literally everywhere you turn. And the shows were stellar.

I gotta say, I'm jealous of those of you who want. I tuned in for a few shows and it sounded like a hell of a way to kick-off festival season.

Kicked off the fest with Politix. Walked in on their cover of Buddy Miles "Them Changes". Dude could wail. Great way to start.
Another strong set from Cope. Liked them last year, liked them more this year.
The Heavy Pets raged hard. Seen them before but not like this.
Honey Island Swamp Band I remember coming out of the venue on fire but I don't remember much at all about them. I think I had been drinking.
Thurs.
Missed Barry Oakley and Sean Chambers. Sorry
I love Bobby Lee but his set was kind of lost. It just wandered around mostly.
Blind Boys was a righteous set. So sweet.
Bounced back to camp for the end of Blind Boys and first of Royal Southern.
Actually most of Royal Southern. I was in a social mood. Loved their set last year and what I saw of this year was just as good.
Best Hot Tuna Electric set I've seen in a long time. Barry Mitteroff adds so much.
Soulive was awesome, just plain awesome.
Fiday
Caught the very end of Hip Abduction and it sounded good. Met one of them LATE night. Not sure what the conversation was about but I think we laughed a lot.
Ziggy was a lot better than I expected. I have seen like 20 different Marley kids on stage but this show really grabbed me. Until the sun grabbed me harder and I retreated to the shade.
Little bit of Futurebirds heading back to camp. Seen them, like them, missed them.
Totally missed the UM show. Would not have survived the booze seeping out of me in the direct sunlight.
Made it for the start of the Skynyrd set. I watched, from a distance, them play 1 full song. I have now seen Lynyrd Skynyrd play. Just put the album on and turn it up loud.
Headed back to the Mushroom stage and my hammock for moe. Pam joined me there and we spent most of the set just being lazy in the hammock. Every once and a while we would start hammock dancing but then we realized it looked from afar, and near, like we were screwing. With my 15 year old nephew right there we thought it might be innappropriate. Not the best moe set I've heard, not bad at all just not best ever, but one of the best moe sets I've been to.
Trey just killed it but it was a pretty prdictable set. A lot of fun dancing with Pam.
Saw Garza on the way out and back in. Bet it was fun.
ABB first night I thought started strong and had a more upbeat selection. Trey sit in, who gets to see that? Oh yeah, us.
Dumpstaphunk like others have said wasn't the tightest set ever but damn it rocked hard. Lots of folks favorite set of the fest. Damn that was fun.
Live band in the camp across the street fromus so we stayed up and watched the sun come up. WHY does this sound like a good idea?
Sat
Up after 2.5 hours sleep and off to see Pink Talking Fish. I knew it was going to be gimmicky as hell or it was going to slay. Really did a great job on everything. Realized that if you are going to be any kind of Floyd cover band the first question you ask is "Do we have anyone to sing Great Gig In The Sky"?
I love Chris Robinson but that was a snoozer set. One of the sets I was really looking forward to and I left pretty early.
From CRB walked into the fire of Matt Schofield. Surprise good set of the fest for me. Just torching a blues guitar.
Blues Traveler was cool to see but again the sun won and I retreated to the Mushroom.
Rusted Root was better than the last several times I've seen them. The "Ectasy" was superb. People up dancing, singing to each other and loving life. Good stuff.
Tedeschi Trucks always is great. This was no exception. I had decided to split my time there and Melvin Seals. It ie REALLY REALLY hard to walk out on TTB. REALLY hard. But I did.
Melvin and JGB were joyous. Everyone at the Mushroom was loving it.
I love me some Mule and every time I see them I realize how much I needed to see them. Totally crushed. My brother was blown off his feet. Not sure he has ever seen a field full of enhanced people so fired up and raging so hard to a full on onslaught of mule.
Had to bounce back to camp but caught the end of Break Science with Tedeschi, Krasno and horns. I doubt I'll get that the next time I see them. One off'd for sure.
Thought ABB started a lot slower Sat. Very cool seeing Seven Turns and True Gravity. 1st times for me. Didin't even know what they were when they started. And screw Greg. No thnks a lot no nothing. Pissed off a lot of people. Apparently he broke up his hand while golf carting around (iswear he came by our camp on the lake).
The late night UM All Night Wrong set was one of the funnest sets I've ever almost danced myself into a heart arttack at. Jake and Warren... I don't know what to say. And then Krasno... Crazy fun. Came out of that show all lit up.
Good, because the band was playing across the street again and this time they had a bass player.
