The event disappeared from the Infinity Downs web page and FB page this weekend.
On the Frontgate website, tickets are listed as "unavailable".

Hey guys: We are in the midst of some major infrastructure work and to also ensure that The Spartan Race goes flawless. We need to get ahead of the work we need to do for patron enhancements for Lockn'.... so we decided to postpone this event. THANKS for your support! And, come out and see us at the Rockn' 2 Lockn' Community Day and help pick the top three Virginia bands to perform at Lockn'!!!! Camping has been added too!

The part that I don't get about this is why there is no public announcement that this event is cancelled either on the Infinity Downs webpage or on their Facebook page. If I wasn't a member of a particular FB group I wouldn't know what the deal was. The event listing just disappeared. Not the way that I would have handled it. You're better than that Lockn'...or at least you should be...

I wonder if they were having trouble selling tickets. We almost bought some a month ago, but it just didn't seem to be worth the money given that we will see Keller elsewhere a few time this summer.The part that I don't get about this is why there is no public announcement that this event is cancelled either on the Infinity Downs webpage or on their Facebook page. Were there many people at the Bruce/Wildlife gig? The Revivalists had a sparse crowd that would have easily fit inside the Jefferson theater, but then maybe people stayed away because the temps were in the forties and the place was rain soaked.

I'm guessing light ticket sales played a part in this decision. Guess we'll see the major infrastructure upgrades when we go to Rockn to Lockn. Bruce show was lightly attended. We were one of less than ten RVs that camped and maybe another ten car campers. Good amount of day trippers though. The only advertisement for any of these shows that I have seen has been on Facebook. There is also some stuff at the promoter level that may be adjusted, but for the better. Could be related.

From Infinity Downs. Maybe they read my post...
We have mixed emotions as we share this news. The bad news is that we have to cancel our Brewmasters Ball with Keller Williams. Well, actually we are postponing it until another time. We will be in touch with everyone who bought tickets to give them a refund. The reason (the good news) is that we have some exciting things happening with Lockn' Festival and Infinity Downs Farm. Our goal right now is to make sure that the Spartan Race set-up is stellar, Lockn' is the best year yet, and overall growth on the Farm is done correctly. More details coming, we promise! Thank you for being a part of our success. We are growing, and couldn't do it without you.

No camping at a beer fest really was weird. It was likely a major POTENTIAL reason that ticket sales MAY have not been enough to justify the festival. It automatically put me in the not a chance column as I SUSPECT it did many others.

Looking at it from the other direction, how did they expect to sell enough tickets for a beer festival out in the middle of nowhere? I'd think that 80% of the people who go to one are not campers and would not consider that option even if available. It's drive home or ride home. So in that respect you'd have to either have shuttles to a city center, or a group of motels nearby.
Maybe they underestimated the resourcefulness and wallet thickness of beer drinkers in arranging limos and such the way the wine bibbers and horse show people do.
Have they had them there before?

They have a brewers festival every year in NC out in the middle of nowhere at Rural Hill north of Charlotte. They have bands, beer and camping. Shuttles are not an option. The majority of people camp. It works really well. It ain't science.

Interesting. I guess someone misjudged the market in the Arrington GMA and thought either a beer fest without camping would sell, or that so few patrons would camp that it wasn't worth the additional expense. Or it was a dumb idea as planned all around. Any way, someone decided to pull the plug and cut the losses.
I have a feeling we are going to see some different decisions being made with a closer eye on what events are successful, or how to make them more successful--which will be for the better overall.

Let's not forget that Lockn had to change its original name because the geniuses at HQ failed to do a quick, easy, and free trademark search on the Internet.Interesting. The Brewmaster's Ball was cancelled and was supposed to take place last week, and not on Sunday, so the answer to your question would be no.
