Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
As to the first, the trade-off of more open space is more long hikes. With the August weather, I think the shorter schleps will be better overall. I do, however, like being able to spread out. As to the second, perhaps that stream running through it? "we're going back to the shadows, my friend...." Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.
The Last Waltz for Lockn?

I'm still skeptical. Even if the new area encompasses all those trees and swampy area in the middle of what they have drawn out, it's considerably smaller than the old venue. Not that it was badly crowded or anything, but, I do like to spread out where I can move around. And imagine that row of porta-potties that were in the back moved up about 1/2 way to the stage...
Which begs another question. Last year the situation was much better (at least for the stand-to-pee'ers) with the troughs they created. No lines! Will they do something similar in the new show field? Where? They seemed like fairly permanent structures, but maybe not.
